Factors affecting the auditor selection decision of FTSE 350 companies
Philip Drew talks about his research, which is of direct relevance with regards to the recently introduced regulations requiring FTSE 350 companies to put audits out to tender. The research looks at how the process of supplier selection is conducted when it comes to professional services and identifies 5 principle elements which influence auditor selection: capability assessment; past relationships; service design; individual behaviours; and the decision-making process itself.
